FFAM360 is “Making A Difference” and Joining the Fight Against Breast Cancer
During the month of October, FFAM360 is joining the fight against Breast Cancer and raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness!
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and FFAM360 is helping to highlight the importance of finding breakthroughs to prevent, treat, and cure breast cancer. During the month of October, FFAM360 is launching our “Make a Difference” campaign in each office to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. During the campaign, designated Campaign Managers in each office will provide bracelets to employees who donate $5 or more. The pink colored bracelets (a hallmark for Breast Cancer Awareness) are inscribed with different quotes. Employees are encouraged to wear their bracelets and increase awareness of a disease that affects not only the women and men who are diagnosed, but also those who love them. With a goal of raising at least $500 from the sale of the bracelets, FFAM360 pledges to match funds, up to $500, for a donation of $1000 towards breast cancer awareness, education, and research efforts.
Recent breast cancer statistics estimate that 1 in 8 U.S. women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer over her lifetime, whereas the lifetime risk for men is approximately 1 in 1000. While advances in treatment, screening, and increased awareness have greatly reduced breast cancer mortality rates for women over the last two decades, diagnosis and treatment still remain a leading concern. Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in women, aside from skin cancer, and the death rates from breast cancer are higher than those for any other cancer, except lung cancer. Promoting the importance of awareness and prevention through early detection remains the best medicine to combat breast cancer.
